I spoke with Emily and Geoff at the end of the conference and we were all a bit tired. Emily performed in the Coding With The Stars stage at Agile 2008 and gave a great run for the gold. One especially interesting segment was the customer story testing segment. For this segment Geoff played the customer and wrote a story test in TextTest and then Emily and Michael Feathers made it pass. This appearance of the customer was well received by the audience and judges.
Finally I get Geoff on a podcast. I recorded him last year but he will jump the queue with this one. Geoff works on a heuristic scheduling problem that is somewhat tricky to write acceptance and regression tests around. To solve this problem he did wrote his own test framework, TextTest. I hope you enjoy this power duo and I suspect we will see more of them in the agile space. -bob

What can I say about this secular messianic figure that is constantly challenging and stretching agile methods to suit his will. Must be the portland air.
We talked about Naked Planning for quite a while. He has essentially taken many of the techniques from Lean Software Development and warped them to suit his particular organization. He has a penchant for experimenting with his team and with his mind and he shares the results of those experiments in this interview.
Enjoy

I talk with Sanjiv Augustine about his work with Agile Project/Portfolio Management and the Middle Managers that execute projects within organizations. Sanjiv and I have worked together for years on client engagements, training and publishing. More recently we have been working to kick off Agile Philanthropy. I spoke at the Agile IT X conference in Reston VA. This conference is put on by the No Fluff Just Stuff folks and ended up being quite fun. The Panel Discussion took some tangents as they always do but I think you will find it interesting none the less.
It looks like they will be running several regional shows next year so drop by if you can and maybe I will see you there.
Listen and enjoy.

We chat about their new book on Retrospectives and the Conference within a Conference (CWAC) at Agile 2007. I always enjoy chatting with Esther and Diana and hope to talk with them this year.
The CWAC was a great at
Agile 2007 and I will be running the Live Aid Stage right next to the Open Jam space this year so I expect to see you there. -bob payne |
